Bathing and Skin Care

Do not use soaps containing harmful chemicals as exposure to certain types of soap and cosmetics can cause extreme irritation and scratching, thereby triggering eczema. It is best to avoid only creams and ointments as that are prescribed by your doctor. Use moisturizing lotions as recommended by your skin specialist on a regular basis. Sometimes, some common forms of eczema like irritant contact dermatitis are caused due to mild irritants such as soap, saliva, sweat, urine and even water. Chemicals as present in some forms of substances such as deodorants, cosmetics, shoes and some kind of medicines are also believed to trigger eczema. It is best to avoid coming into contact with common allergic substances present in various substances and allergens such as poison ivy, poison sumac and poison oak. Therefore, one effective way of preventing eczema is to find out what you are allergic to and avoid exposure to such substances. Minimize contact with dust, pollen and other common allergens by washing your clothes regularly and keeping your place clean. Replace all those substances that tend to harbor dust mites.

Excessive Sweating and Skin Rashes

Skin rashes as that characterizes eczema can be prevented if one takes an effort to maintain proper weight since rashes often appear under the skin fold. Excessive sweating under the crease of the skin or folds of any body part can increase the risk of a person of getting skin rashes. If a person is overweight then the chances of excessive sweating and rashes under the skin folds also increase.
